Helping Your Projects Succeed

Simply put, our team of consultants will help advance your project initiatives and increase effectiveness. Our expertise includes

Change Management

Our consultants will facilitate change management processes with work teams or individuals to identify strategies that minimize negative change impacts. Consultants will use tools that will help move change through a step-by-step process i.e. The ADKAR model, Balanced Scorecard or simplified strategic management approaches. Heavy emphasis is placed on how organizations measure change across work groups and systems.

Data Management

Data Analysis

Improves operational efficiency and outcomes by using state of the art tools and methods that help you gain better insight of your data. Whether your goal is to increase program effectiveness or improve efficiency within your organization, we can help you achieve your goals.

Data Modeling & Design

A successful organization makes “Data driven decisions”. Identifying outcomes, inputs and variables that drive efficiency, goal attainment and progress are critical. Our consultants help your organization define and analyze data requirements needed to support your program processes based on the type of information management systems available. Data models can be complex as using a RedCap platform or simplistic as creating usable and effective Excel spreadsheet tables.

Evaluation of Programs

Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis

Our team will use a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis to flesh out research questions that require statistical or narrative examination. Comprehensive data collection strategies will involve site interviews, observations and on-going data monitoring. The ultimate goal is to help your organizations make better decisions and predict future outcomes.

Logic Modeling

We are intentional about developing program “logic models” that gives a clear picture of how your initiative will work to achieve good outcomes. Our consultants deliver a process of gathering inputs, outputs and clarifying measures and outcomes for success with every client. Organizations will get a visual of why their chosen strategies are good solutions to the problem they have identified. A good logic modeling process will include all key stakeholders and participants to truly be an effective road-map to success.

Analysis & Reporting Results

We help organizations identify and analyze key performance indicators to measure what matters most. We develop reports that answer the questions: ‘Are our strategies working?’, ‘Are we measuring the right things?’, ‘Has our environment changed?’, ‘Have we made progress?’ and ‘Are we budgeting our money strategically?’ Our work will ensure that your outcomes are clearly described through print or other select forms of communications.

Strategy Planning

Leadership Coaching and Facilitation

Facilitating a meeting or work session can be a daunting task when you are already bogged down with the day-to-day implementation of a program/project. Our team of consultants is expert facilitators that are skilled at presenting information, bringing a group to consensus and soliciting input from diverse work groups. In addition, we are available for Leadership Coaching, which is an effective tool for clients who need one-to-one consultation. Coaching will ensure that decision making managers stay abreast of best practices surrounding program planning, implementation, staff development, conflict resolution, priority setting and time management.

Asset & Community Development

Asset-based community development is a process by which leaders begin mapping key assets within the community by using a model developed by the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute at Northwestern University in Chicago. The tool was developed by two master practitioners (Mike Green and Henry Moore) who taught the notion that citizens are the primary asset and activators of assets in local communities. ABCD Institute utilizes tools to assess five categories of community assets: a) inquire about the skills, passions and experience of local residents, b) existing volunteer organizations and their networks, i.e. faith-based organizations, c) local institutions that might contribute to community empowerment, i.e. schools, libraries, parks and police stations, d) physical assets e.g. land, buildings and transportation use; and e) economic assets as in primary modes of bartering goods in the community and businesses. Our consultants will ensure that capacity inventories and mapping tools are tailored for specific needs of each target community during the facilitation and development process.

Action Planning: SWOT Analysis & SMART Objectives

Organizations typically begin an effort with a vision, mission, purpose and objectives to address the question of “how much impact does it want to see?” Our consultants will facilitate sessions to help work teams identify clearly defined benchmarks to address tangible outcomes at the individual or population levels. A SWOT analysis is a reliable tool to help your organization get a true picture of who you are and who your customers are. It also highlights organizational strengths and weaknesses. A good SWOT analysis leads to developing a great action plan. We will also facilitate an action planning process that uses (SMART) objectives rationale and (RACI) matrices for determining best alignments for roles, accountability and engagement of key stakeholders regarding your project.

Project Highlights

Georgia Ethnic Health Network (GEHN) Project

Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through the American Lung Association, Strategy Group succesfully accomplished our mission to develop leaders in diverse Asian, Latino & African American communities, and build partnerships for sustainability, inclusiveness, and advocacy for issues positively impacting communities. SG facilitated a process whereby leaders could dialogue around working together to combat common problems. Ultimately, SG facilitated a process by which ethnically diverse organizations and communities would craft strategic plans over multiple years, and provided guidance to communities by using complete community assessment profiles. More importantly, SG culminated the process with a statewide ethnic health summit including translation in multiple languages.

West Virginia Department of Public Health REACH

Strategy Group consulted on outreach to African American communities in McDowell and Kanawha Counties, WV. The overall purpose was to guide community mobilization strategies that organized coalitions primarily around the elimination of diabetes, obesity and other health disparities. Essentially, Strategy Group was able to simultaneously work to build community coalition capacity and address CDC’s REACH West Virginia grants program goals. The community coalition-building approach was implemented in four phases: initiation, assessment, strategy planning, and sustainability.
The approach assured the following specific measureable outcomes:
1) increased awareness and coalition participation;
2) increased community problem assessment and solving ability;
3) trained and indigenous leadership structures;
4) clearly defined health indicator measures;
5) clearly defined linkages with existing resources; and
6) measurable, fundable and sustainable community action plans.

We helped West Virginia and Georgia in the following ways:

  • Established and organized two county coalitions; developed & synthesized promising practices
  • Developed management infrastructure and statewide committees to execute REACH US goals
  • Developed strategic intervention goals using a participatory approach that engaged the African American community and increasing their understanding of social determinants of health
  • Developed effective strategies to address health disparities affecting racial/ethnic communities
  • Guided community leaders and health agencies on empowerment of local citizens to advocate a cause
